Josh and I celebrating “5 is 1 Tony Day”

Back in 1999, my friend Josh wanted to get my mad rapping skills on tape.

We chose Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s “Got Your Money” probably for its deep social meaning. This was in the day of having to listen to the lyrics and transcribe what we heard. We had no immense lyric database to search. After this masterpiece, an attempt was made to record a cover of “What the World Needs Now Is Love,” the Burt Bacharach classic made popular by Jackie DeShannon, but it didn’t quite match the magic of what you will listen to below. This was performed in my basement to several crowds. I’m sure they thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will cherish it forever as you will.
